Forgiveness is not a one-time event. You don’t just lob the F-bomb and then back away, as if you’ll never have to deal with it ever again. If the gospel is important to you, if you want to be free, if you want intimacy with Jesus, if you don’t want anything that happened to you to have power over you, then you must forgive as many times as it takes. Seventy times seven. EVERY DAY. Four o’ clock. Five o’ clock. You might have to release them multiple times.
